Welcome to Followsoots.com. My name is Lisa, and I am a travel blogger and photographer. I’m so excited you’re here! I am also delighted to share my love of travel and positivity to inspire you to live your best life!
I have been traveling regularly in my life for over 40 years. In that time, I’ve visited five Continents and 40+ countries. My travels have taken me to unique places all over the globe. Even though some of those trips have been hectic, I still return home ready to go again!
I hope you’ll join me on this adventure. Here’s a little bit more about me and my history of traveling.

Early Travel Life
So, travel has been a thing since my first trip to Disney World with my Mom when I was 8. This was also my first plane ride and where I learned I love to fly, just like my Dad, the Navy pilot.
I began making annual treks between Texas, Virginia, and North Carolina when I was ten. This happened because my mom relocated us to Houston; the rest of my family was in Virginia and N.C. I flew quite a bit as a kid and learned to navigate the Atlanta airport independently by age 13. If you’ve been through Atlanta, that’s saying something!
Family and Travel
Fast forward to college, and while studying Communications, I met my husband, who worked for an airline and loved travel as much as I did. We began taking vacations as much as possible, primarily to relaxing beach destinations!
Having children did not slow us down. We just had to learn to travel with kids and still have a fantastic time, which we did! Luckily, our daughters also loved to travel, so travel became more about National Parks, beaches, and Disney World!
Once the girls were old enough, we decided to take on Europe, and as they say, the rest is history. All these experiences were early prep for me to become a travel blogger and photographer.
Making the Leap to Travel Blogger and Photographer
During the time of family travel life, I worked as a real estate agent. Obviously, I had to have a flexible job to travel often. I began learning more about photography in real estate because it was a big part of my job. I took those skills with me on my travels and fell absolutely in love with photographing all the beautiful places we visited.
Naturally, I loved sharing my photos. After the rise of Social Media, I became the go-to person for travel advice among my friends and co-workers.
Fast forward again to 2019, when I decided to take the leap and quit my job to travel even more and blog about it. Unfortunately, 2020 halted the idea quickly, but it did not deter me because I’m still here!
Followsoots Now
Now that you know a bit more about how I became a travel blogger and photographer, you can probably tell I have much to share about travel.
You will find detailed destination guides for places worldwide on this travel blog. I write my guides with the mindset of inexpensive travel. Mainly because that’s how I’ve been able to travel so much over the years. I include many free things to do because who doesn’t love free?
Of course, we have established that I love travel photography, so I also create articles about the best things to photograph while visiting beautiful places. This will make fellow photographers and Instagrammers happy! So grab your camera, and let’s go!
Additionally, I sprinkle in some travel tips and will add more hotel reviews in the future!
Lastly, I believe we all need to be encouraged, and the power of positivity is essential. Therefore, I create posts with positivity, travel, and music quotes. I also use aesthetic imagery wallpapers because I am creative, and everyone can use a few free and aesthetically pleasing phone wallpapers!
But also, there might be dog quotes because I love dogs!
